Isostatic presses

The FIP and EASYISO series

are among the primary forming processes and use hydraulically generated pressure to compress powdered and granular materials into the desired shape within a die cavity.

During isostatic pressing, the amorphous material is transformed into a solid body with a precisely defined geometric shape; this makes it ideal for the mass production of components with intricate and complex geometries.

Frey Systeme’s isostatic powder presses can efficiently and accurately compact a wide variety of geometries and powder types; furthermore, thanks to our modular designs, they can be individually configured and expanded.

FREY presses compact carbide, metal, ceramic and plastic powders into a solid body. Our systems are used in the manufacture of:

  • balls
  • valves
  • pipes
  • rods
  • Battery sleeves
  • etc.

Advantages of isostatic pressing:

  • Longer service life for moulds thanks to our specially developed moulding material (service life of approx. 100,000 parts)
  • Higher performance thanks to our three-part tooling system, concentricity and the use of robots
  • Faster tool changes thanks to our adapter system
  • Greater precision in stamped parts
